Food Review: Chiquito

Hey guys and Happy New Year!

Today's post is a day late so huge apologies, however it will just be a cheeky Food review for a restaurant that I visited on Saturday for the first time ever- Chiquito! All views expressed are my own so please do take it with a pinch of salt but I've tried to be completely honest.

Chiquito, Unit D, Royale Leisure Park, London W3 0PA

I went to this branch of Chiquito on a Saturday night around 8:30pm. The line to wait was about 10/15 mins in which we were seated in a booth. We shared a starter of Chilli Prawns and BBQ Southern Fried Chicken Strips. For mains we chose the Chicken and BBQ Pulled Pork Burger and Chicken and Ribs. The drinks we had were called Agua and Passion fruit Agua Fresca and a raspberry lime lemonade.

Appearance
The food looked good, the starter was a bit disappointing as there were only 3 Chicken Strips to a portion which for the price they charge is a little short of what is expected. The Chilli Prawns however looked really good and appetising. The mains did look good however the lack of fries on the large plate made the dish look sparse.

Score: 4/5

Taste
The food was quite nice, the starters were flavourful and had lots of punch to them. For the first time, the Chilli Prawns were actually spicy! I was so shocked when I took a bite as I expected the spice to be mild, but kudos to Chiquito when they say spicy they really mean it! The chicken and ribs were okay, the chicken breast was dry but well seasoned and the ribs were forgettable. The chicken and pulled pork burger was surprisingly good, and came piping hot, which for me is a first for any burger I've ever had. The real star were our mocktails which were fruity and delicious!

Score: 3.5/5

Ambience
The restaurant was nice, its a mid priced restaurant decorated the same. Similarly to a TGI's. The table was super sticky and the waiter was so difficult to get a hold of! We waited a good 15 mins before anyone came to our table to take our order and a further 20-25 mins after our starters were finished for our mains. Disappointing.

Score: 2.5/5

Value for money
They have a deal on right now for 50% off mains in the month of January, so all the food we ordered plus drinks came up to £33 which I think for two people is good value for money. Without the deal added, I wouldn't say its worth the money.

Score: 4/5

Overall: 14/20

Wouldn't particularly recommend this restaurant at all unless you are in need of a quick bite to eat.

That brings this weeks post to an end, as always have a blessed week ahead.
